Hard disk drives missing . Only c drive is visible

Hi all - Just installed a 2nd internal hdd win 7 - sata3. The c drive is 500g and the new drive is also 500g.
The new drive is visible in disk mgt portion of device mgr and device properties lists the device as working properly.

However, it doesn't show up when I click on "my computer"

What do I need to do?

You need to setup/format the drive in disk management. Go to your start menu > right click "My Computer" > click "Manage" > go to Disk Management. The rest should be fairly self-explanatory.

Hi - Thanx for the info - however, I went to disk mgt before I posted here, and could not find any way to setup and/or format this disk.

Thanx again - think I got it figured - I was confused because when I rt clicked it gave me simple volume - but then it led to format.
