Don't worry about the speed of the RAM. It will run at stock speed for sure, and, very, very like you can OC it a bit with no issues.

I'd wonder if those heat spreaders on the RAM will hit the CPU cooler..... one way to find out try to install them.

BUT FIRST, you have this cooler:

for an i3-550 ?

that's ONLY a 73watt chip, the stock cooler will do really well or a most a Hyper 212+ would be needed. I would seriously consider returning that monster Noctua cooler (thou I'd love to have one for my i7-950...).

You're SOL with that cooler and ram i'm afraid. You could try if you only have 2 sticks.

Vengeance ram is 52mm tall and unlike Dominators which are the same height you can't remove the fins.
Get some Ripjaws 41mm tall and compatible with the D-14.

D-14 and i3 550 a little overkill no!
I happen to be waiting for the exact same mobo and cpu and will be using a $30 212+

ill be selling some parts this december. so others will be left behind and be used to another new system :D..

i see.. yep the nhd14 isnt compatible with the vengeance..

so i just went for noctua nh-u9b se2

but another question..

i have 8gb dual kit 2x4gb vengeance

and the motherboard only has 2 slots

can i place both?
or i can only place one..

im confused with the dual channel stuff..

coz i had a mobo before also has 2 memory sticks..

but each is placed on a different group
ex: [blue][black][blue]black]
each stick is placed in blue
