Monitor looking for signal

My computer starts up and I can see the bios info, but when it starts loading Windows XP the monitor goes black and I see the NO Signal error message on the monitor. Computer has had no changes and has worked great for 6 years, just started this on boot up today.
Any ideas?

Try booting in safe mode.
Tap the F8 key when booting.

Use Windows Recovery in safemode to get your computer back to the time it worked fine, that will ensure u its not windows cranking.

try resettin the bios... remove the cmos battery nd place it back

After searching around, I started the computer with the last known working session, and everything has been working well since. I am still holding my breath!!
