Cant Decide 4gb or 8gb

Im building a new computer and i was going to get 4gb of ram but something inside me whats 8gb of ram. What should i get? I play games like GTA4 CSS CODMW TF2 and yea basically steam games. Also i will be doing coding on this for school and it will be used for media such has watching HD movies and so on.
