It's part of Windows Live Essentials 2011 and you might want one or more of the other free programs.

Mozilla Thunderbird is a good alternative, it's what I use with Win7.

I had Outlook Express with WinXP and was able to migrate my old email into Thunderbird.

The other option is to use a web-based client like Gmail or Hotmail. I've never bothered to install a mail client on my desktop.

I really like Live Mail;
It works nicely with my ISP email account, my Live mail and Hotmail accounts and even my Gmail account. All on one page.
