Diamond ATI TV Wonder 600 PCIE does not shut down under Windows 7-64

Ever since I installed the TV Wonder 600 PCIE with the Catlyst 10.4 drivers the computer would not shut down. If I uninstall the drivers, the computer is able to shut down, but then I would not be able to use the TV tuner. I am currently using Windows 7 64-bit on a build with an ASUS M4A78T-E and ATI Radeon 4890. Does anyone have the same issue in their computer not shutting down when the Catlyst driver are installed for the tv tuner, and have you been able to solve the problem?

ATI 600, 650 HDTV Tuner card have a lot of HW and SW issues. That's the reason it is selling $30 compare to the $129 Hauppauge 2250.

I tried these ATI cards before and decided to use the hauppage 2250.

I had my ATI 650 replaced 3x because of HW failure. The ATI600 was replaced 1x due to HW failure as well.

I been using my 2250 for > 2 years now. It works well with Windows media center or the software provided by the manufacturer.

Thanks leon2006 for the advice. I got my card working now without glitches, however I had to use the driver from Diamond's website. I had glitches with the newer ATI Catlyst tuner drivers, but sticking to the Diamond drivers on the Diamond site fixed the problem.

Leon2006: I'm trying to get my 2250 installed with Window 7/64bit on an ASUS M4A78T-E and having driver and Media Center install issues. Tried latest downloads and packaged disk from Hauppauge. Can you tell me what you are running?
Thanks,
Peter

I use both Windows Vista Media Center... and Hauppage WinTV.

Windows media center is an excellent Tool for HD recording and viewing HDTV.

When you update the driver remove the old driver. There is a tool on the Hauppage webpage to clear existing hauppage tv driver. Then load the new one.

It also require SP1 for Vista-64 for it to work. I'm not sure with W7.

Make sure you have a big drive if you plan to record. An hour of HDTv recording is ~ 4Gbytes, I have 2 TB just for my PVR/DVR functions so i don't need to worry about HD space.

Thanks for the speedy reply. Other than the OS, I am trying to install the same apps. I did the Hauppauge clear driver util. Neither the download nor the install disk worked for me. Can you tell me the driver version you are using?

The latest on the site is 6/11/2010 release. That's what i use.

Media Center TV Setup should see / detect the tuner.

Update your BIOS & PC drivers and make sure you have the latest.
