SDD and HDD <- freezes

Hello, I've recently bought a ssd (samsung 128gb 830 series) and the problem is that when i try to acces programs or things stored on the hdd it freezes up the pc. When i try to unpack a file or watch a movie, the hdd is not responding for 3-4 min. I mention that this problem wasn't before installing the ssd. Can you help me?
