Blank screen when i connect pc vga to 1080p tv hdmi help

Hello,
I had Phillips 1080p hd tv and was trying to connect my cpu vga to TV hdmi through a vga hdmi cable but i cannot see anything on the tv help me.

VGA to HDMI is only possible if your video card is capable of transmitting digital signals over the vga port. Other wise its just analog signals which cannot be 'understood' by the digital only HDMI port of your tv. Do you not have a "vga in" port on the tv?
