Hello,

Just wondering if anybody knows something about the hardware required JUST enough to run them at max settings?

Thanks

Max resolution or a specific resolution? (sorry, I don't actually know the answer, just trying to get the ball rolling)

my Darkstorm Hurricane series laptop on my website can play the FF14 demo on max settings providing you install the right cpu.

That's a pretty tall order...I can help with some of the actual game info...

Benchmark Scores

[8000 and over] Extremely High Performance
Easily capable of running the game on the highest settings.
[5500–7999] Very High Performance
Easily capable of running the game. Should perform exceptionally well, even at higher resolutions.
[4500-5499] High Performance
Easily capable of running the game. Should perform well, even at higher resolutions.
[3000-4499] Fairly High Performance
Capable of running the game on default settings. Consider switching to a higher resolution depending on performance.
[2500-2999] Standard Performance
Capable of running the game on default settings.
[2000-2499] Slightly Low Performance
Capable of running the game, but may experience some slowdown. Adjust settings to improve performance.
[1500-1999] Low Performance
Capable of running the game, but will experience considerable slowdown. Adjusting settings is unlikely to improve performance.
[Under 1500] Insufficient Performance
Does not meet specifications for running the game.

So you're wanting over 8k on @1080p you're talking about a mean system...examples are like core i7 980x with crossfired 5870s... that got a 8060

Highest I've seen is 11688 and that was a xeonw3680 with a 5970 and 2 5870s...

i7 920 with 3 5870s got a 8237

I'm gettin the numbers from here...
http://stat.nazarite.jp/benchmark.php?nm=FFXIV&p=0

Though there's speculation that the benchmark is a bit jacked up with some pretty decent systems getting low scores...many people hoping it's wrong, but there's not much else to go on...I can't tell you what to think about that...I'm building a new 1 and it won't be anywhere near the top tier...seems like the top GPUs are a must...amongst other things...

Now the 5500-7900 range sounds more reasonable and should do well...and I can't say "this exact system will get you what you want" but that offers some ideas..

Hope that helps a bit...

Oh...Recommended Settings...

Are you looking to use a system you currently have? If so please post specs. If you are thinking about building a new rig please post your price range and preferred parts, if any (AMD vs. Intel; nVidia vs. ATI)

I am in the process of building a rig myself for this very reason.
