Adding an ExpressCard SSD to a laptop

I'm thinking of buying a Lenovo X230 laptop. The SSDs they offer, however, max out at 128GB which is way too small for me. Since the X230 comes with an ExpressCard slot, however, I was thinking of ordering it with a 500GB HDD for my data and adding an ExpressCard SSD for my apps and OS (Win7 x64). Any thoughts on this approach? Pros, cons, recommended SSDs? Thanks.

getting the OS on an SSD isn't as easy as it might sound, as least that's what i've read. a 120GB ssd isn't to pricy these days, and then you could add something bigger to you express card slot. i added usb3 , and bought an appropriate drive, but am disappointed because it's simply not that portable anymore (elitebook 2530p). i'm looking for some expresscard memory.

I wont to buy some small ssd for windows for my x201 , I see there are many discussions about interfaces and boot. I see only two options: express card or pcie.
off course I prefer express card, but there is one question:

Can you boot windows 7 or 8 from your sdd express card?
tnx
