Hi, I am have start up issues with my Dell Inspiron 530S. The system is about 3 years old and sees light use. Lately when I press the power button I get a white light and the fans start, after about 5-6 seconds the fans stop and the light goes out. About 8 seconds later the fans and the light come back on and the cycle keeps repeating. Sometimes during the cycling the blue light comes on the computer starts. Can you give me any indication of what is going on with my PC? Thank you,

Without knowing what the "white light" and "blue light" are indicating, no. Please read your manual and tell us.

Also, does the display remain blank the whole time?

Yes, the display reamains blank the whole time. The white light is the power button as is the blue light. I'll have to pull out the manual to see if there is anything in there to indicate the problem. I did look on line and didn't see and light codes that matched what is happening with my unit. Could it be the power supply going bad?

Check the reset button if it's not stuck. Disconnect and reconnect the HDD and try again.
