Hello to all!

I have a 2 GB installed memory dimm DDR2 800 HyperX Kingston in an XP OS 32bit on a Maximus Formula s775 board.Ofcourse with no overclocking at all.
Recently a friend gave me 2x2Gb dimms dual channel A-Data DDR2 1066+(5) Extreme CL:5-5-5-15,voltage:2,1-2,3
Also my CPU is an Intel dual Core 6300 1.87Ghz

Issue #1:If I put the A-Data Dimms will i have them work in 1066 at first boot or do I need some configuration in the mobo before doing so?

Issue#2:What do I do with the Hyper X 800?Is it necessery to throw them in recycle? Can I use them with both the A-Data?

Thanks for any help in advance!

(...and sorry for my bad english)

If you reset Bios prior to startup with the 1066 ram it should default to 1066.
You can use both sets at once if they are rated at the same voltage, They will default to the settings of the slower of the two.

Your RAM will run fastest (read as "best") with just the two 2GB sticks. Also, you're using a 32 bit OS, so there's no point in more than 4GB of RAM. Hold on to the two 1GB sticks or give them away or sell them. I have uses for them.

I guess i will leave the system only with the A-data 4Gb dimms

Thanks for the reply, and for your time!
