Hello,
I have a netbook with wireless capability and will be taking it when I visit my sister. I would like to connect wirelessly to the internet via her computer. Her desktop specs say she has a 10/100 Ethernet LAN. Will this help me? How do I connect while I'm visiting? Thanks for any and all help!

You won't be able to really share the connection with her desktop. There are ways to do it but I doubt her desktop has the hardware required to share it.

The simplest way to make this work would be to purchase a wireless router that you would bring with you and setup. Instead of her network cable going to her computer it would instead go into the wireless router and another cable from the router would then connect to her computer. Then the router could be configured so you would be able to access the network via a wireless connection.
