My screen on my HP g series laptop is broken and I have a Toshiba Satellite that the hard drive crashed. I was wondering if I could take the hard drive from my HP and put it into my Toshiba?

Physically it will probably fit, but you will need to reinstall all the software for the Toshiba, otherwise Windows will just BSOD every time.

I don't have any discs for the software that came on my Toshiba. Both computers have Windows 7, so could I just make a backup disc from my HP and load it onto my Toshiba?

The issue with using a backup disc from the HP on your Toshiba is that your Toshiba doesn't likely have the same hardware as the HP, and a backup from the HP will have drivers for the hardware in the HP, but not necessarily in the Toshiba.

I would check with Toshiba and see if you can get a set of recovery discs.
