Hello,

I'm new here, I've read up on a couple of threads and I love how helpful the community becomes. I have gotten some ideas for video cards, mobo, processor etc. but I don't think these are up to date and I want to be able to run the most recent games like COD: Black Ops, Starcraft 2, Burnout, TF2 and so on..

Here's what I'm thinking of getting..

Motherboard
Video Card
Power Supply
Processor
RAM

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: End of next month

BUDGET RANGE: $0 to around $500

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: GAMING, Video editing, Movie watching..

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Monitor, OS (Windows 7 64), Speakers, Hard Drive

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com

PARTS PREFERENCES: Hopefully, HIGH performance graphics card, Blu-ray Drive

OVERCLOCKING: I don't feel too safe with it but i can try

SLI OR CROSSFIRE: I'm still pretty new, so idk what this is :D

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1440x900

Again, if there's any changes to be made to my list or anything to be added that'd be great! Thanks in advance.

Holy Sh^t dude, for a new comer you've actually picked out good parts.

Save yourself some money and get this RAM:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

With the $10 saved replace the 5750 with this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Also get this Power supply instead:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

The one you picked out is excellent, but it more expensive then usual.

You are wise, your build is fine, you have read the 'Best XXXX for the Money' articles, go for it.

I got a very cheap AM2+ Asrock Mobo (about 50 USD) and unlocked a x3 to an x4 and switched on the auto overclocked and ended up with x4 @3.5ghz that got 7.3 in the WEI - took about 2 seconds to do, solid as a AS-rock (sorry)!

Your build will play the games you mention very well at stock, and its as upgradeable as anything would be for the price.

Awesome! You guys are great. I also need a sound card I think, but I'm not sure what kind... and if there's anything else you guys would recommend, that would be great! Thank you.
