Please help me find the correct graphics card please!

hey everyone. I am in the market to buy a new nVIDIA graphics card for my desktop PC. My motherboard is an Asus P5WD2 and I have a Pentium D processor with 4 gigs of RAM in it.

This is the power supply that I have:

the ampage, wattage and voltage of that PSU is this:

Over Voltage Protection Yes
Input Voltage 100 - 240 V
Input Frequency Range 50/60 Hz
Input Current 10A
Output +3.3V@25A, +5V@25A, +12V1@25A, +12V2@25A, -12V@0.3A, +5VSB@2.5A

any suggestions on which nVIDIA graphics cards are compatible and recommended with my PSU?

I thank you all for your help!

More about please find correct graphics card please
  1. GTX260+, THG just ran a article on how the price is $140.00USD
  2. hey man thanks for the reply! 140 dollars is a bit steep for me.. do you know of any that are good but below 100 dollars?
  3. Yes, GTS250 would be good since your CPU will bottlenecking the GPU, but not much...

What kind of Pentium D? Current speed?
  4. Even a 9800GT is going to be bottlenecked by pentium D but this crippled (128bit) one can be had for $50 after MIR
  5. I think its a Pentium D 820 .. I am not entirely too sure. But my mobo does not support PCI Express 2.0.. it is an older mobo.. Will this rule out any of the newer graphics cards? Or will I still be able to get good performance from the card if i place it in a PCI Express 1.0 slot?

Also I wont be using this PC for much gaming except World of Warcraft
  6. Hey thanks for the replies guys and gals... a couple of things:

    1) what does bottlenecking the card with the CPU mean?

    2) which card is the 10o that Timop was referring to?

    3)what is 10o?
  7. ahh ok? pardon me I am a bit of a n00b when it comes to hardware... so any 2.0 cards will work fine with a 1.0 slot?
  8. yes, any 2.0 cards will work with 1.0 slot...
Do not get 2.1 cards... :)
  9. do you guys and gals think this would be a good card for a system so I could play World of Warcraft on it?
  10. ^+1 for Timop...
