Asus M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 of Asus Crosshair IV Formula

Hi. I've been looking to update my mb and both of these have grabbed my attention. I us my machine mainly for gaming and video converting and I'm after a mb that can easily oc my phenom 555be. Both of these mb tick all the boxes. There is a bit of a price diiference between them and is the Crosshair worth the extra. I have a 1tb hd and a GTX460 and 4gb ram (which will be bought when i choose the mb). Any advice would be appreciated

If you are not planning to run 3 GPUs at once, the Crosshair offers little to you.
Go with the M4A89GTD PRO/USB3.

Hmm...if you ever plan to SLI your GTX 460 then ASUS M4N98TD EVO or look at LGA 1155 Sandy Bridge MOBOs e.g. P67.

Otherwise, IMO either the M4A89TD PRO/USB3 or Crosshair IV Extreme the Formula isn't great for faster RAM and isn't much better then the M4A89TD PRO/USB3.

Well i think I'm going to go with the M4A89GTD Pro. However, i did read somewhere that big GPU's can cause problems fitting into the board. Will there be a problem fitting my GTX460 into this board?

That should fit fine as long as you don't have the passively cooled Sparkle SXS4501024D5SNP.

edit: after double-checking - even then I am pretty sure you'd be OK.
