More about enough power
  1. Yes, the HX1000W is a very powerful PSU.
  2. thank you very much just want to make sure
  3. Just for future reference, Newegg has a great resource for estimating required wattage for your system here. Its just an estimation mind you, but if you've got a supply that will run 50-100W over their estimation, I think you'd be very very safe. Punching in your system information with a few guesses, it looks like you'll need about 850W to be safe, so 1000W should be perfectly fine. Best of luck!
  4. You can never say a PSU will run your system because it has XXX watts.

Here is another thread that shows that that statement is true http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/291203-33-having-trouble-radeon-4890
Amps on the +12volt rail (total wattage available for +12volt) is equally if not more important than the total wattage for any modern system.
  6. My bad, that's very true. I had forgotten about that. The Newegg tool is still handy for ballparking, but it is very important to make sure that you're getting enough power on the rails you need most. Thanks for catching my biff.
  7. Congrats rolli on the gold badge!
