Hey guys,

Planning on building a new system in a few weeks and can't find the right CPU cooler. Basically have a i7 930 OC'd to around 3.5-3.6 and I need to find a good cooler for it. I'd like a cooler w/ direct contact heat pipes, those are cool. Would like it to have 2 GOOD fans. Any suggestions/advice on the ones I chose? So far I've looked at:

Scythe Mugen

Cooler Master V8

Ultra Chilltec (Thermalelectric version) - I like this one since it has the 5.25 fan controller but its expensive and doesnt have the best value

Ultra Chilltec Silver (non thermalelectric)

Cooler Master Hyper 212+

I have 2 Cooler Master Hyper 212+ on 2 rigs, and they work well. Shop around, superbiiz has them on sale for ~$32 w/free shipping, try code FALL15 at checkout - it could knock another 15% off the price.

Hello, I would go for the Hyper 212+ as well, though Newegg is over priced. Amazon has it for $30 with free postage and Microcentre has it for $24.

[EDIT]
Newegg has dropped their price from the $48 to $38 but still too expensive.

I have a Coolermaster Hyper 212 in my personal pc. CPU cooling is excellent.

There is no need to install expensive cpu heatsinks for moderate overclocking.

Fenir Titan is also very good, i have 3.8ghz out of my i7 930 at 65oC MAX under full load..

Have heard extremtly positive reviews and comments regarding the CM Hyper 212+

Pretty clear by now, but yeah, 3.8 on a CM 212+ no probs.

under $30 for a good cooler FTW

Another vote for 212+ but personally I hate direct touch heatpipes - the surface is never flat for me and there's always rough edges between the heatpipes and the base.

Just a personal thing though after having grief with a few Titan Fenrirs junking up on me.

LePhuronn - I have the original Hyper 212 with the solid block. Surface is completely flat.
