Hey im runnin on a evga x58 Le motherbaord and running 480gtx sli setup.

Now i run the 1st and 3rd slot on my motherboard making the first card a 16x and the 2nd card running at 4x

I don't know how much and if it dampers my performance at all.

Does anyone know what type of loss i would be getting?

I Ran vantage 3dmark06 and my cards are overclocked to core/mem/shader 850/1128/1700 GPU-z 0.4.3.

The score was 31,487 for my cards and 60,123 for CPU (OC at 4.193ghz)

Overall score of 35,743.

Are my cards performing the way they should be or are they running slow?

You would definitely be bottlenecked by that 4x bandwidth in SLI I'd say. Try running the GTX 480 in the PCI-e 8x slot.

seems if you can afford 2 470's, a new MB with 2 x16 slots would be in order

Do the stats from vantage show that im bottlenecking? 31k for 2 480's. Not sure if i would have higher at 8x slot?

I suppose to could put it in a 8x slot but its soo crapped together almost seems not worth the fps increase if theres any. But i don't know what type of fps increase it would be

+1. You could afford two fremis, why not a board capable of holding them....
if its crapped together in the x8 slot, a proper fan at the proper place should do the job! :hello:

AA nevermind
I lose 5% performance.. 3-4fps. Finally figured it out. GOD its not worth the upgrade $$$.. i mean i went from 4890's to 480gtx so the diff was huge but payin a couple more hundred bux for 3-4 fps...

Well there you go.

Thanks thread is closed :D

newtrick, I have my cards at 800/1000/1600 and I get a 3dmark vantage graphics score of 34,874 for reference. So.. that seems like a decent difference.

EDIT: When my CPU was at a score of 60k, my GPU scores were 34,127.

Yah i mean there was a 2k difference when it came to vantage from a 4x to a 16x, but real world gaming and what not had little difference.

Yeh, if you guys are getting CPU scores in the 60k, you need to turn off physX in order to get the real CPU score of the CPU by itself.

I know, I was just simply comparing scores, if I had posted a lower score, it wouldn't have really made sense. And I only have Basic edition.

Yah i saw that performance. To buy say a x58 classifed from my LE addition is like an addition of 200$ for 7% max but 3-4fps max =|
