Hello any idea if my cpu is bottlenecking my system?

3.4 965BE stock
480gtx stock
4gig ddr3 corsair 1600
880 gigabyte board

I plan on playing ffxiv in 1080p and I ran the ffxiv benchmark test and scored a 4500 on low and 4100 on high, these numbers seem to be low for a 480gtx. I have no idea how to OC i dont even know where to start if i wanted to OC. Any ideas? Thanks for any input

I tried to search for the game results with just a GTX 480. I saw one with a OCed Core i7 and a HD5870 OCed as well hitting about 4100 on high.

I would guess that yours is probably fine.

This guy has a Core i7 @ 3.6GHz and 2 GTX 480s in SLI. SLI wasn't working but he got 4500 on high and 1080P.

Based on that, I would say yours is pretty much on par with what you have.

As for OCing, for that CPU you can go into the BIOS and just change the multiplier to a higher number as long as you have proper cooling it should just go.
It would only become an arguable bottleneck if you are running multiple cards.

You could test it yourself too:
1. open the task manager
2. run the game
3. when you have trouble, tab out. You'll see the CPU usage for the past 15 seconds or so.
