Hello, noob here,



I built my first rig a long time ago, like 04, and I have been out of the loop for a while, but recently i bought all new parts for an AMD rig with SLI support ( I KNOW STRANGE), i have installed every component of the motherboard, ram, cpu, front panel, usb ports, and absolutley nothing happens, no power, no fans, no lights, no nothing. I am so lost.

read it, thanks here is a stupid question, can a motherboard be completely dead? Is there any combination of components that can be tested to ensure motherboard is not simply a paperweight? If i plug in the power supply to the motherboard, install the cpu, connect all the atx 4 pin and the atx 24 pin should i see any movement of the fans?

There are varying degrees of deadness with components.

Did you actually go through all the steps not just read them? Did you check to confirm your PSU works? You can check in the way shown in this video.

If your PSU works, try breadboarding.
