I am not sure which motherboard to buy. I am helping a friend put together his computer and he already bought the CPU and 2GPU's and then he realized the motherboard he was going to buy originally was not compatible with the CPU. This is what he has:

CPU
Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K

He also has 2 GPU's that he wants to run in an SLI configuration.

GPU X 2
EVGA 768-P3-1360-RX GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 768MB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

What mother board should he buy for this setup? Also, he is looking to buy at least 12GB of ram. Any suggestions there?

Thanks for all the help.

Get an Asus P8P67 PRO or Sabertooth. Can't go wrong.

I agree with mortonww on the motherboard choices.

I would recommend going the the ASUS P8P67 Deluxe, if you have the budget for it!!

The ASRock extreme series is very feature rich and priced below ASUS. Their mobos are well rated as well.
