latest patch - ouch

UT4 has run perfect on my machine since I bought it UNTIL this latest patch.
(a) it erased all my settings, including my username/pw for stats
reporting -- annoying
(b) my mouse and escape key do not work until I'm into the first menu so I
can not go rapidly thru intro screens
(c) the game freezes

I thought it was just me! Mine slowed down considerable, lots of pauses,
etc. I'm thinking of a new install of the game.

Always have backups...

This is weird, and shouldn't happen. Check out the official forums, to
see if other people have the same kind of trouble. Perhaps an OS patch
might fix it.

Windows XP Pro
Latest Nvidia driver (not Beta)
Latest OS updates
Machine runs everything else silky smooth and like I said it ran UT4 just
fine until this latest patch.
I may just try a total reinstall of UT4...

This could be the problem but I have to ask. Are you running a
new version of the game we have not heard of? Is UT4 still in
beta? Unless you're talking about UT2004. Might do good
to just reinstall and wait for yet another patch. They seem to
be coming out regularly here as of late.

Heh yeah I mean UT2004
Yeah I'll wait for next patch and see.
I think they rushed this particular patch out because I'm hearing others
having same problems as I am so I hope they get on the ball and put out a
fix soon.
If I get toooo ansy to play, I'll reinstall.
