Hi all,

Recently refurbished an old PC with the following specs

Asus M2N-32 SLI Deluxe Mobo
AMD Athlon 64 4400
Maxtor 250 GB HDD
Corsair TX 650
Coolermaster Elite 335
Corsair XMS2 4GB DDR 2 800MHz

In one of my little portable PC's (Intel I5 build) i have an old GTX 280 from XFX, now i really want to put a new 460 in that one and i was just wondering if the GTX 280 would be fine to be put in the old refurbished PC?

Im sure the PSU can handle it, but the mobo is kind of old despite it having a x16 slot, will there be any compatability issues?

You will have no issues with putting the GTX 280 on your refurbished PC. It will be slightly bottlenecked by your CPU and the PCIe x16 slot (not the newer PCIe 2.0 x16). It will still be a decent secondary gaming PC!

Thanks :)

In honesty it would be classed as a tertiary gaming PC! I'm thinking of lending it to a friend when he goes down south to do his placement degree course and wanted to get it together.
