My question is which is best and best for me and my intended purpose?
Both are overkill. I already know that but between the two which would you all choose?
I will not be using it to game with. I want one of them because they're Intel based and not NVIDIA, because they have better than PCIe X16 x4 electrical/lane. These have X16 x16 or X8 x8. Also for the PCIe 2.0. Those reasons and the price is excellent from a reliable seller.
The X8 x 8 is not an issue -that is fast enough. X16 x 16 is super-gravy and will never be used but I can run what I need in them.
The use for the boards will be running a new Radeon HD 6450 in one slot and my new Adaptech RAID controller (x8 PCIe) in the other. I will watch streaming video, be editing films and recoding films, watching HD movies, photoshop editing, general photo editing. No 3D games....well maybe Diablo II if I get bored.
Would one be better than the other? People bitch about both equally. I like the ICH10R on the P45 because it is said to RAID 0 and 1 better if I should chose to do that.
I will do some SLIGHT overclocking. My CPU is a Intel Q8200 wit that FSB of 1333 and you have to risk cooking the northbridge to OC that much so I don't.
I can't decide on one of these.....same price.
