I was thinking about ordering
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

or

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

on a
biostar 790gx a3+ motherboard with a antec 300 case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ImageGallery.aspx?CurImag...

its the orange looking pci e slot and the card goes towards the sata's
I was wondering out of these two of anyone would recommend a specific one i'm really all for the rog but ie heard that the ati drivers dont work right with the card on a few of the newegg reviews could this be possible???

if you look at the design of the gigabyte 5870 soc it doesnt follow refrence its smaller by .5 to 10.5" it looks like the design is different enough that it might fit, i mean i sold my 5770s to get better performance how else can I get better performance?

well i'll leave this thread open and let you guys know if it fits when I get it in, i'm ordering the gigabyte oc'd its .5 smaller then refrence so it should be a little smaller then the rog lengthwise we'll see.

got the 5870 matrix rog in today, and yes it fits and it works fine, unless you install the itracker 2 or the other asus software called asus rog which the itracker drops the frame's down in crysis to 15 from around 60-80 so i'd say their software right now is, well I hope installed wrong LOLZ =)

btw its sitting right ontop of the sata ports just fine, lolz

If you are smart enough to know what you are doing and not yet suffering from arthritis you can rout the sata cables right under the card with a little room to spare. I also agree that the connectors are oddly placed but if you build the machine you shouldn't have to many issues. As for the case you can fit cards that are 8800gtx size (10.5in) but it wont fit any much larger like a vintage 7900gtx duo or the equally massive 5970.
