For all this is $950 but I did have to buy an OS so I got the windows 7 for $100.

It's alright, but there are a few things that would make it better.

I'd suggest looking at the following build:

CPU/Mobo: X4 955 and Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 $285 after rebate (with free game)
GPU/PSU: HD 5870 and XFX 750W $430 after rebate
RAM: G.Skill Eco 2x2 GB 1600 mhz CAS Latency 7 $105
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1 TB $75
Case/Optical: Coolermaster 690 and cheap SATA DVD burner $73
HSF: Sycthe SCMG-2100 $35

Total: $1,003. It's a little more expensive, but you get a better GPU and better RAM, not to mention a free game. Everything else is basically equivalent.

Or you could switch the following to make it $100 cheaper:

CPU/Mobo: X3 440 and Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 $183 after rebate

The CPU doesn't really affect gaming performance much, so saving on the CPU to afford the bigger GPU is a no-brainer.
