I have this motherboard:

I also have this processor:

I was on the phone with HP's Tech Support for a while. The "specialist" said that the processor would work in this motherboard. As soon as I installed the processor and put the heat sink back on (yes I upgraded my heat sink too), the computer powered on...however nothing happened. I may have to update my bios? Or, am I out of luck with trying to get this AM2+ CPU to work in my dated HP setup. I have been to several other forums where the repliers just spam "Just upgrade your motherboard, that's what i'd do." I'm hoping I don't get a response like that at all. Anyone have any ideas? I have read some other articles where people were trying to upgrade to this Kuma, so will someone clear this up? I also realize that the clock speeds are the same on the processors i'm switching. Thank you very much for any insight.

My specs:

HP Pavilion a6230n (Narra2)
AMD AthlonXP 5600+ Dual Core 2.8 GHz (the one i'm trying to upgrade)
8 GB Patriot PC6400 800mhz DDR2
BFG Nvidia GTX 260
