I've just finished building my first computer, and when I boot it up the POST indicates that the motherboard doesn't detect my graphics card. One of the gold teeth forming the PCIe connection to the motherboard is damaged on the card and only extends about half as far as the others. Is it possible this is the problem?

My system consists of:

Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 VGA
Asus Maximus III Formula mobo
Intel i5 750 processor
GeIL 4GB DDR3 1333 Dual Channel RAM
Samsung Spinpoint F3 harddrive
