I'm thinking about a new build.

Asus Rampage II Extreme

DDR3 (1600) (low latency)

Prolimatech Megahalems CPU Cooler (Push/Pull)

I really want to know whether the Asus Rampage II Extreme's Sata3 steals bandwith from a x16 x16 SLI or CrossFireX setup? Will I get full x16 x16 running 2 cards on this Motherboard?

Thanks

You're right!

Intel ICH10R controller
6 xSATA 3 Gb/s ports
Intel Matrix Storage Technology Support RAID 0,1,5,10
JMicron® JMB363 PATA and SATA controller
1 xUltraDMA 133/100/66/33 for up to 2 PATA devices
1 xExternal SATA 3.0 Gb/s port (SATA On-the-Go)
1 xSATA 3.0 Gb/s port

I must have got the boards specs mixed up or the site I read it on did the same. Thanks for pointing it out. :)

I will be populating at least 6 of the SATA 3Gb/s ports, 2 of the PCIe 2.0 x16 slots with graphics cards & I'll also have a Wi-Fi card & possibly my Creative X-Fi Gamer depending on what the sound card that comes with the board is like.
Do you reckon that would take any bandwidth away from the PCIe 2.0 slots?

Not going for the R2E since I found out how dual cards in SLI or Xfire sit far too close together! Shame, but that's a deal breaker for me. Was also looking at the Gigabyte GA X58A-UD3R but the coil whine issue is also a deal breaker for me. P6TD Deluxe it is then, unless someone has a better alternative?
