1TB Drives tend to be faster than 500GB ones as the platters are more dense, therefore less search time for the little arm.

Also the Spinpoint F3 has 32mb cache while i think the WD only has 16mb which does make a difference also.

+1 for the spinpoint f3

go for the x4 955 it's the same chip as the 965.
you can easily set the 955 to the 965 settings by going to the bios upping the multiplier by 1 and voila!! your 955 is now a 965 for free.

also you can save some cash by going with the cm haf 922 (best case for the money imo. and very large it's roomier than the 1200).

other than that it's a solid build mate.

Thats exactly what i'm saying. Its a known fact, thats why you'd go for a 1TB over a 500GB, especially for a boot drive.

Your preference seems to be an aesthetic thing. Samsung make superior drives for the majority, both in price and performance. The only thing WD has over samsung are the velociraptors but they're a different class anyway.

Trust me, for you, for anyone, the F3 is the best choice, i swear by mine.
