Onboard audio recognition problem, Is it the motherboard?

Sorry...not sure what you mean by "doesn't recognize when I unplug headphones from front audio port".

well just what I said, I have Realtech onboard audio and inside the program that came with my asus driver disk I can see where things are connected to my computer's audio jacks. The problem with that, is the computer says that something is connected to my computer through the front panel audio port when there isn't.

I tried reinstalling my drivers, "refreshing" the program, plugging in and unplugging the headphones, and checking the connection to the motherboard, nothing fixed the problem.
