Black Screen?

Hey guys, so recently my dads computer has been freezing after boot-up. ( I load up the comp, im at the desktop already and then it freezes) Any help?

Specs: I think

Pentium-d
nVidia Geforce 7600gt
1gb ram
300gb storage

Bought this computer 3 years ago.

Has it been cleaned of dust and lint from the inside? It can affect cooling and cause instability if components are running hot.

Agree with rolli59, make sure your dad PC is free from dust...
Re-assemble all components and check your temps...
