BUDGET RANGE: ¥50,000-65,000 approx 500-650 USD

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Mainly an all around computer, watching movies, doing a little photoshop, minimal gaming

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: need pretty much everything except monitor will be using an aquos lcd tv

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS:,, (bit limited for online parts, usually go to Akihabara when i have the time)

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Japan (sorry guys)

PARTS PREFERENCES: preferably amd since i am on a tight budget

MONITOR RESOLUTION: i think its 1980x1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: doesnt have to be exceptionally fast, should be functional and hopefully last for a while

Hey guys, am in need of your help. This build is actually for a friend of mine. She just wants something that can handle most things and she loves taking photos so photoshop will be utilized i guess. As you can tell its not going to be a whole lot of computer. I'm not really sure if those sites will help but normally those are the best ones i guess. Actually recently built my own rig after reading a few articles here on Tom's but thats for another post. So for now, just really need help configuring something workable for the small amount of cash. Thanks a lot and more power!

Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition BOX

asus m4a79xtd evo

XFX Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB DDR5 DisplayPort HD-577X-ZNFC (PCIExp 1GB)

Corsair TX 650 W 電源 ATX JP Version 保証 5年間 CMPSU-650TXJP

whatever would work i guess

cheapest one preferably

optical drive
recommend one please

whichever could fit in budget

keyboard & mouse
any would do

Once again, thanks!

Hmm, checked out the parts i listed again. If i got all of those, id be out of the budget in no time. So i guess i really need help on this one. Would it be better to go for ddr2 rather than 3 to cut expenses? what else could i shave off? i guess we could add a bit for the os, max 75,000 (approx $750) i guess.

Well I'll try, others would too just not many can read Japanese lol. (I can't, but I'm just using the search bar with amazon, the English option helps too) :D

I've converted everything to approx U.S. dollars.

AMD Athlon II X4 630 - $100 USD

ASRock 870 Extreme3 - $100 USD

Antec Three Hundred - $80

Total = $680

  • If something is completely wrong, pleas tell me. I can't read Japanese sorry.
  • It's a bit overbudget but I really can't do much more - hopefully you can stretch the budget to ~ $700 for the ODD + M/KB.
  • I went for the AMD Athlon II X4 because it will be faster with PhotoShop and multitasking, as well as a few games too.
  • The ASRock 870 Extreme3 is a newer board which will last longer. :)
  • The HD 5670 is cheaper and should do the job just fine if it's minimal gaming.
  • Not sure on the ODD.
  • I'm not sure whether or not that is the right version of Windows 7, just check to make sure it comes with a DVD and everything.
  • Haven't recommended mouse/keyboard, not sure on this part.

Thanks so much for the replies! :D  I know how that feels, I live here and I don't know how to speak the language. The funny thing is, I'm Japanese. :D
Lmeow, thanks a lot. I think that would be the best setup the most intensive program to be used would be photoshop. Thanks for the blueprint. By the way, stupid question but how do you chose the best answer? Been looking for that for quite some time. Thanks again!

edit: scratch that last part, apparently it shows itself. hahaha, my other post didn't have it cause i was asking for an opinion. God i feel stupid. Thanks again.
