The GTX 470 now with improved drivers seem to have close performance levels to the HD 5870. If you are concerned about power consumption and heat issues, then the HD 5870 would be a better option, otherwise stick with your GTX 470.

My main problem with the gtx470 is heat and not too much worried with power but i have a self built up case
a cooler master sniper but the temps of the gtx470 are crazy for me man games like metro 2033 it hits 85c max and in idle 45c and i dont like that at all most of the time i do graphic modeling

Yeah so true they release the chips to run at those temps and with stock coolers

guess in their eyes and knowledge its safe but consumers feel otherwise

Just get a 5850, or even a 5870 if you have the cash. If customer service is big on your list then Sapphire are a good AIB.

I have an XFX 5970 which is awesome, but i only got that as, at the time, it was the cheapest 5970 from the retailer i got it from; not to mention that XFX is a good name despite their dubious record for RMA'ing.

Still, Sapphire is the name to look for in ATI stuff, if you can afford it get the Vapour-X models as they appear to kick ass too.

Sadly enough yes you must expect faulty product when it comes to something like this, I mean look at the Xbox 360 RRoD. :o

As for your driver question it should come with a driver disc and just install it and it should update the driver by itself. :)

I'm not to familiar with DX11, cause I'm still maxing Crysis DX10 lol. :)

and it will be cleared up, ha ha what a mission lol
