Mass storage device not working

my external harddrive is recognized but I can't access the actual files on it....the eject and open devices alert pops up bt it doesn't show up in "my computer" just randomly stopped working one day....and now when I try to sync my blackberry with my computer itdoes the same thing I can't access anything or sync it with my computer...any ideas?

I am a computer engineer from Pakistan, am currently in the UK. I believe the problem is your HDD has a password set by the bios. So you need to install the harddrive in the computer with the same bios firmware and then disable the HDD password on boot. By the way, you actually need to know the password to do this.
