Hello everyone. I am clueless about upgrading PC's, but I done a bit of researching and think I found a power supply and graphics card that can work in my PC. I have to get a new power supply since right now my PC only has 160 watts. I know Slims aren't made for gaming, I just want one to play Sims 3 decent.
That PSU is not really 300watt closer to 220watt based on the specs.
It says the output power is 300w.
75 watts +5volts, 108 watts +12 volts and 49watts +3.3 volts total 232watts, disregarding the negative and standby wattage. Here is the interesting thing. If run at 250 watts the temp rating is only up to 25 C (that is very low temp) at 220 watts temp rating is 50C that is acceptable. The + 12 volt rating is very low, modern system need most of their juice there.
So it won't run the card on my PC?
Probably would, but your 160watt might to if it has similar amps for the +12 volt rail.
