Hello,
I am looking for a graphics card around $125-150. I was on Newegg and Tom's said that the GTS250 was my best option for the money.

So, there are three cards on Newegg that look interesting.

MSI N250GTS TwinFrozr 1G OC GeForce GTS 250 1GB 256-bit
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127445

Palit NE3TS25EFHD52 GeForce GTS 250 512MB 256-bit
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814261057

ECS NBGTS250E-1GMU-F GeForce GTS 250 1GB 256-bit
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814134099

Are any of these cards worth it or should I be looking at other cards (ATI maybe?)

Thanks.

What is that?

What about cards like the HD5570?

I forgot to give my specs :D, it might help.

AMD Phenom II X6 2.8 Ghz
MSI 890FXA-GD70 Motherboard
Kingston 2 x 2Gb 1600 Mhz DDR3
CoolerMaster Elite 330 Case
Apevia 700w Power Supply
Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
LG CD/DVD Burner

Thanks

Price wise, if the ATI 5770 is in your budget, it's a substantial step over the GTS 250. I'd suggest the 5770 over the GTS 250 if it works for you. :)

As far as suggestions for the rest of your PC, it depends on your budget and what you're planning to buy already.

What difference does the bit make? Do you even know how/what that effects? The 5770 is faster then the GTS250, even though it has "only" a 128bit bus. (the 7600GT is about as fast as the 6800GT, even though it had a 128bit bus for the same reasons.)

Your computer looks a little off. You have a 6core CPU indicating a need for a scalable CPU. (meaning encoding work) Most people don't pair this CPU with a GTS250 unless they want to play games. If this is mostly a game playing computer dump the 1055T and get the 955 or 965. Your encoding will be a bit slower, but your gaming will be a bit faster. I'd actually suggest getting the i5 750 for a better gaming experience.

The PSU is junk. Look for something better.

Alright, thanks for clearing that up. I'm sorry that I sounded I bit naive, it was just something I didn't understand.

Looking at the i5, can you recommend a good motherboard to go with it?

I'm using the Gigabyte GA-P55-UD4P (discontinued). If you get something similar it should perform very well. :) Hopefully you're getting the i5-750.
