Hi,

I built a computer from pieces bought on internet. I installed windows Vista on it.

The problem is, when I start up my computer and I "CTRL-ALT-DEL" and go in the perfomance, I can see that there's like 2300mo free RAM. But if I wait like 5 mins without opening anything, my RAM just go down to 0.... So Vista is eating 4go of RAM even idle... thats not normal.

Any solution?

Motherboard: Asus P6T SE
Video Card: Geforce 550Ti
Processor: Intel Core I7 920 2.67Ghz
RAM: 4Go 1600mhz

It sounds like you've got too many services running in the background. Check this website to see how to disable some of the non-essential crud that is highjacking your memory:

I noticed some desktop gadgets combined with the latest Internet Explorer tend to have memory leaks. Might wanna look into that. And if you don't use the latest Internet Explorer, may wanna uninstall it anyways if you have it installed.
