So, I have a phenom ii x2 555 on a asus m4a88t-m mobo, and today I tried to unlock some cores.

Untill now, I haven't messed with any voltages or timings yet.

Activated unleashing mode.. failed. Fair enough.

Deactivated cores 5 & 6... failed. Guess it isn't a quad core.

Still shooting for three, I tried 0,1,3... didn't work

Then 0,1,2... no.

Finally I just tried 0, and 2, and it worked. Still two cores, but this means the 3rd core it there, right?

Retried 0,1,2 and it worked, but task manager only sees two cores and cpu z recognizes it as an x4 here is a screenshot

Any ideas on why this is happening? If I can get each core individually, i should get them together.

My experience has been hit and miss with (X2s & X3s) unlocking hidden cores. I would guess and say about 70% are failures, that being said, of the 30%, about half would blue screen/crash when making the transition to power saving mode/performance mode. I turn this feature off in Windows 7 & just run the CPU at full voltages. This can sometimes (not always) make the unlocked cores run well.
