I am very new to pc building and this is my attempt at building a HTPC/Performance PC. I'd like say beforehand that all your feedback is well appreciated.
I had a budget of $2000ish

My goal is to build a HTPC that can also function for light programming and finance software (bloomberg = multiple screens). I don't game at all.

I am looking for help at two things:

1. I have purchased the following part at these prices. Have I over paid?

Memory: Patriot Viper II Sector 7 Edition 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 $95 w/ rebate via newegg
(I know I should have held off on this but the price was too good but I can still cancel)
Case: Cooler Master Scout $54 via newegg
Sound Card: Asus Xonar D2 $109 via newegg
PSU: Corsair CMPSU 650 TX $65 w/ rebate via amazon
BluRay Reader/DVD Writer: LG CH10LS20 10x BD-ROM/16x DVD-ROM $60 via newegg
SD card read: Koutech multi card reader $20 via newegg
Apps: Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and MS Office 2010 for $140 via Digital River student discount
Keyboard: Apple Wireless Bluetooth $49 via ebay
Mouse: Microsoft Laser Mouse 8000 w/bluetooth dongle $35
HardDrives: I have leftoversfrom my old laptops so I'm think I would do the following setup
2x Western Digital 500 Gb 5400 rpm in raid 0 for data and 64gb SSD for OS/Apps
1x 64 SSD (figure i would wait for prices to get to $1.5 a Gb =$100)

Total:$775 ($675 w/o memory)

2. I have these remaining parts to purchase (the most important stuff) and really need help putting together the right stuff.
Roughly $1200 for
CPU/MoBo/Video Card/TV or cable tuner card
I think I'm locked into a 1366 board since I bought the triple channel memory in this config.
I need put together a decent i7 9xx package with this budget.

Roughly $1300 for
CPU/MoBo/Video Card/TV or cable tuner card/Memory
In this configuration I'm really open to anything.
I was thinking I would at least go quad core (i5 760 or the i7 8xx) with dual channel memory on a 1156 MoBo.

I was hoping to keep this build for a while. Which has a better upgrade path 1366 or 1156? I'm really not familiar with MoBos so I would appreciate some suggestions here.

Again this is for a HTPC build that also functions for light programming and financial software (bloomberg = multiple screens). I don't game at all.

Thanks for all the help.
