Hello,
I'm from kurdistan
Planning to buy a new pc for gaming
And already chosen this parts:-
Cpu:-I5-750
Ram:-kingmax 4gb(2x2) ddr3 1600mhz
Hdd:-1tb wd
Odd:-liteon 24x
Monitor:-lg 2262tq 22'' full hd
Gpu:-gtx 470(zotac or evga due to availibility)
Keyboard & muse & speaker

Now I dont know if following parts compatible or not:-

M.b:-asus p7p55d pro or msi gd80 or msi gd65
Psu:-FSP 700w
Case:-hexar turbo
Ups:-tripp lite 750va

My questions:-
1.Is tripp lite 550va good for my build or may i choose the 750va one?
2.what r main differences between motherboards?
3.My PROBLEM is power supply , will fsp 700w be OK with my sysem and largely with gtx 470?
4.case :the best case that can be found here is a chineese case named (hexar turbo) which has 4 small fans on both sides, may i buy it ?and will this simple cases be ok with the system above ?

I need help ,please answer my questions specially third which is about psu.
Thanks

The PSU has enough power for your system running only one GTX 470 but why would you go with the GTX 470 when the HD 5870 is much better in performances and has the same price range.

Thanks
But are you sure?
Is it compatible just by being a 700watt or when you say that you mean everything like amount of amps on each 12v rail and...?
Related resources
July 24, 2010 8:11:06 PM

You need 35 Amps in total available on the +12 volts rails to feed the GTX 470.
Here's a FSP Epsilon 700w review for you:http://www.xsreviews.co.uk/reviews/power-supply-units/f... , and i would raher go with another power supply manufacturer(Corsair, Antec, SilverStone, Seasonic, and OCZ) if they are available in Kurdistan
July 24, 2010 8:14:50 PM

If you are looking for a Xfire in the near future i would recommend a 1000W PSU that needs to have (in total accumulated) at least 55 to 60 Amps available on the +12 volt rails, but as i said i would rather go with the HD 5870...

Ok i understand
So i'll buy fsp 700w and i wish it works correctly.
And about your question why gtx470 and not 5870?
Gtx 470 =450-500$
Hd5870=600$
Prices are too high here ,the whole above system costs me about 1800$ without operating system because just the cracked version can be found here.

Do you have any other PSU brand to chose from?
Anonymous
July 24, 2010 9:06:40 PM

Yes just another one:-
X-factor 600w
But i googled it and found nothing and i think the fsp 700 is much better than it.
Why?
Why not the fsp 700w?(brand?lifetime?...)
July 24, 2010 9:17:41 PM

Well yes it's the brand mainly but if you do not have where to chose from you can go with the FSP 700

Quote:
I'll be honest, the Epsilon does seem a little overpriced. It's 3.3v and 5v rails are nice and stable but the 12v strays a bit when putting it under load. They are also over 0.4 of a volt outside of what they are aiming to be; not that tight. However, the Epsilon does have a quiet cooling solution and its rather nice to look at in its fetching blue. For a 700w PSU there are probably better ones out there, but the Epsilon from FSP is hardly a poor choice
This is from the review page , and you should also read this if you want to know why i don't second the FSP.

Thanks
what i have to do?
May i go with it?
What kind of problems or... will i have with it?
Can you help about the case i said in first post?
July 24, 2010 10:09:42 PM

Search the internet for a better shop in your country. If you can't find anything i would go with the FSP 700W since the other X-factor 600w is an invisible PSU on the market.Atleast we found a review about the FSP and it's not such a bad one.Problems: a PSU can cause a system to display a wide range of symptoms which also resemble other issues but this is by chance i would say, I personaly am running a Noname PSU on my 2nd PC for 4+ years now and i never had a problem with it and goes 8-12 hours a day.You can keep it clean for 1 thing that will ensure a longer lifetime( http://www.ehow.com/how_5045654_clean-pc-power-supply.h... ).
The case is also invisible i can't find anything about it but if it has a good airflow, some cable management support and offers some space i would go with it.

Thank you
No other choices so i will buy them(psu & case).
There is no internet shops in my country and the shop that i am going to buy my pc at is not an internet one.
Thank you again

I'm waiting for answers of my other 2 questions about ups and m.b !?!?
Anyone can help?

As far as motherboards go, I'd go with Asus. MSI boards have a tenancy to over-volt when overclocking (and you really SHOULD be overclocking that i5).

Moreover, ASUS is a better brand (marginally).

Thank you for your answer.
But why you said :- you SHOULD overclock it ?!?!
July 25, 2010 9:07:49 AM

Oh and as Tom said, GT470 = not that good. The entire GTX 4xx series consumes way more power and wallet than the Ati 5xxx series. (Also note that though the GTX470 performs between the HD 5850 and HD 5870...it's a lot closer to the 5850)

And $600 for a HD5870?! That's a major ripoff! The GTX 470 itself should also be around $350. not+$450
Check out this store: www.ewiz.com
GTX 470 $350
HD 5870: $450
HD 5850: $300

They also do international shipping (can only pay via wire transfer though)
You should NOT be paying $1800 for your system. With that money, you can get yourself a decent i7 build on ewiz. I got myself a similar i5 build for less than $1000 (shipping included). I also don't live in the US/UK so finding a local store with a quality selection is nigh impossible. That's why you should import...especially as an enthusiast.

Moreover, you can get yourself a much better case+PSU combo on ewiz. I would strongly warn you against buying a no-name brand for a PSU...especially if you're gonna be gaming. My previous system had a random PSU manufacturer (Procase) and that PSU (600W!!) was the first component to fizzle out.

Because the i5 can easily be boosted to 3GHz with little hassle and the extra performance is worth it.

I can boost my i5 to 4.2GHz and that gives me the performance of an i7 970!!! (almost :p  )

Thanks lotus
I checked ewiz.com and yes it is international but i live in the north of iraq(kurdistan) which is not included in location selection.
And i want to overclock it if there will be auto overclock with stock fan.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO !!!
July 25, 2010 3:37:14 PM

Ack! Yeah it will be hard to find companies that ship to iraq...you could use a forwarding agent such as www.myus.com though but that might incur a lot more hassle and costs for you. I'm stumped too there...

Don't worry about the stock cooler...you can still OC with that and i5s come with a turbo-boost function that allows you to OC with the click of a button. Just watch the temps and voltages though...

Sorry about above post ,i am writing it with a wap browser on my mobile and you know sometimes it hangs and...
July 26, 2010 1:45:10 PM

Although it is overkill for your system i still would recommend the 800W odin pro from Gigabyte as it has some good reviews. The other psu huntkey 700w i could find some unpleasurable reviews here.
As for the case see if you can recognise it here.

July 26, 2010 4:35:55 PM

Finally i ordered asus p7p55d pro 220$.
P7p55d evo was available too but 260$ , so is my choice(pro) is better choice over (evo) according to price/performance and specification?
I mean what is main differences between them?
Tnx
July 26, 2010 9:08:24 PM

1st:The are insignificant differences between the 2:
P7P55D PRO:( 2) 2.0 16x (8x+8x in Crossfire/SLI) & (1) 2.0 4X12+2 phase & few less features than the EVO
P7P55D EVO:Same as PRO but has a few more features including a clear cmos on the rear i/o panel+The Evo apparently has TurboV Autotune.
You made the right choice since the +40$ can't be justified on the EVO.

2nd:As long as you don't have another better brand to chose from the odin can keep your system running.

3rd: Here is the cases link : http://www.gigabyte.com/products/list.aspx?s=51&p=146&v...
July 27, 2010 7:28:22 AM

Oh thanks
I think i found the case model and it is iSOLO 3134 and it costs me here around 100-120$
So is it a good one?
Will it be ok with gtx470(heard it is a card)?
And is it good for tempreature?
July 27, 2010 10:11:52 AM

Yea m8 compared to my Antec 300 it's way bigger, it comes in form factor ATX so you can fit the mobo, tool-less and cable managed, liquid cooling upgrade ready, washable dust filter and you don't have to worry that your PSU won't fit since they are from the same manufacturer. As for the GTX 470 i think it will fit in since my HD 5850 fitted in the Antec 300 and it's half centimeter smaller : http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=185149
It's to 12cm vents front and rear so the temperatures should be ok but i am not much of a case expert so don't take my advice in cases airflow.
July 27, 2010 10:17:14 AM

Thaaaaaaaaaaaank you
And do you recommend it?
I dont know , buy or not?
July 27, 2010 10:22:22 AM

Buy
