I wanted to know which would enhance the performance of my computer more for gaming should I upgrade my memory from 4gigs of ram to 8gigs of ram or should I get A vertex ssd to use as a boot drive to make my computer faster
Which would significantly be a better upgrade as both will cost about the

Thanx

Go for the 555, the 9950 is old, and you might be able to unlock the 2 cores.
But if you like quads, go for the 635.

Why do you want the new CPU though? Your E8400 is fine and you can push alot more from it.

Nothing is wrong but you want better performance? That doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Whats the resolution?

I doubt upgrading the ram to 8GBs will make a difference in your gaming. Assuming that 250GB drive is an older one and you can see some load time decreases if you upgrade that. You can grab an SSD if you want, but I'd probably just slap an F3/500GB per platter drive in there.

What is your budget for this upgrade?

I would recommend upgrading to a Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB hard drive and add a second GTX 260. You get the greatest gaming performance increase through upgrading your GPU. This can be done by adding a second card or look to purchase a new GTX 400 series card or ATI 5800 series card.
