New to the forum, nice to meet y'all
I recently upgraded to a pny gts 250 w/ 1gb of vram and was wondering what kind of performance i should expect from crysis. I currently run it @ 1440x900 w/ no aa or af at high settings (dx9) with the following command lines in my System.cfg file:
con_restricted=0
r_UsePOM=1
r_sunshafts=1
r_colorgrading=1
e_water_ocean_fft=1
q_Renderer=3

i only manage to get 20-30 fps walking around, and in more intense levels, such as "assault" i often see drops as low as 15 fps. Is this the best i can expect from this video card?

Other specs:
vista 64 bit
core 2 quad q8200
8 gb ram
latest gfx card drivers

Sounds about right.

Crysis is extremely... GPU intensive. There's another forum user complaining about 30fps at 1024x768 resolution on "Very High" with his ATI 5770 (which beats your GTS 250).

I used to play Crysis with an 8800GTS 512MB (2 generations before the GTS 250, but same GPU chip basically), also at 1440x900.

CPU Clock speed helps. I recall articles a couple years back about how being 3Ghz + helped with over all FPS.

Here's the thread I was mentioning:

What were you're settings with the 8800gts?
