A friend of mine recently got a prebuilt computer from Costco.
He told me that he got Dual SLI GTX 260 running on a 460W PSU.

First of all, is that even possible? What amount of Wattage would you guys suggest for the 260's?
Also, What happens to a computer when the PSU Wattage is not enough and you turn it on?

Thanx in advance.

I dont think so,A single GTX 260 consumes abt 182w at peak lod,So two of them will consume 364W ,and the rest of his pc will definitely consume more than 100W,then how is it possible?

If you have a good branded psu,It will auto shutdown when overloaded, otherwise you can see smoke coming from PSU!

I think the 260s just scale back when it senses its not get enough power, which translates into in-game freezing.

Though It could also be possible the "260"s are actually heavily underclocked OEM versions, which shouldn't have a problem on a 460W then.
