wont work, i too have an old intel d915gav mobo with socket 775lga but it wont support dual core or quad core or hexa core.....(few years later i will have to edit this post and add more like octacore, decacore etc lol )check the biostar website, you maybe able to learn more, if you want a cheap mobo which does support it then the asus p5kpl - am/ps mobo is good
