Hello, there.

I have been preparing a decent build of my opinion but since it's my first I need some guidelines for that matter....

Its usage will be top notch gaming and 3D rendering, video encoding.

Here are the specs..

Case: Coolermaster HAF 922
PSU: Kingwin LAZER 750W ATX Modular
Motherboard: ASrock X58 Extreme
CPU: Intel Core i7 930 @ 2.8ghz
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD5850
CD drive: Lite-On Super AllWrite
CPU Cooler: Coolermaster V8
RAM: Super Talent Chrome series 3x2gb
HDD: 2x Samsung Spinpoint F3 1tb

I will probably set up an RAID 0 Array for performance and possibly O/C the CPU to 3.4 on air.

My question is. Will this be future proof? And will this be good for modern games?

also, future proof is a fuzzy term.

It will play current games at high settings, and you can continue to squeeze games out of it for 2 or 3 years at lower and lower settings, depending on how well you can abide turning your settings down.

you will be able to upgrade your video card, but since intel has been switching their cpu's sockets around, and you probably wont be able to make significant upgrades to your ram, MOBO, and CPU without doing it all at once.
