PSU ans Windows 7

Hi all

I have recently moved from win xp to win 7 ultimate 64. Since then my power supply acts weirdly. Every now and then it makes a noise like its about to switch off, but nothing happens (no errors, nothing hangs, no blue screen etc.). So I ghosted back my old win xp and it worked without any noises from my psu. Switched back to win 7 and it starts again. Any advice what could cause that? I would really appreciate you help guys.

My specs:
CPU: Intel Q6600
Mobo: ASUS P5K-V
Graphics: ATI Radeon 4890
Audio: Onboard
OS: Win 7 Ultimate 64
PSU: CIT 650W
RAM: Kingston 4GB DDR2

crap power supplies can do that and explode and kill your pc

Most likely its because of win7's aero taxing the system more, causing the PSU to strain.
