Quicksync on Z68 motherboard WITHOUT iGPU

Ok I raised the similar question a few weeks back and the consensus is there WON'T be a version of Z68 without iGPU.

Now that Z68 boards are out and it seems like there're a few implementations of Z68 based motherboard WITHOUT iGPU. (Better yet, these are all aiming at enthusiast, which is what I'm after...)

Does anyone know for sure that I can still use QuickSync on these type of motherboards? My intuition is yes but would love to get some confirmation...

Quicksync works only with the aid of the integrated video chipset on the processor.. So a motherboard which does not feature provision to use the onboard GPU will not support quicksync..

Not sure that is the case. There are two modes, i-mode and d-mode.
i-mode would require the IGP to have an output. Don't think that is the case with d-mode. d-mode, w/quick sync for decoding/encoding video, just requires access to the internal IGP, not an external montor output.
Of coarse I could be all wet, reason I keep a bathing suit handy.
